Project Description

Cleveland Park Streetscape & Drainage Improvements – Construction Management

Client:
District Department of Transportation (DDOT)

Project Description:
The Cleveland Park Streetscape and Drainage Improvement Project along Connecticut Avenue from Macomb Street NW to Quebec Street NW is located in Ward 3, Washington, D.C. This project is designed to improve drainage throughout the corridor, improve pedestrian safety, and implement several green infrastructure improvements. This area of the District was susceptible to major drainage issues that not only impacted the streets but also flooded the Cleveland Park Metro Station.   The goal of the project is also to reduce the erosion and/or pollution in the affected tributaries. The recommended green infrastructure designs include planter, curb extension and open area bioretention; permeable pavement in parking lanes, sidewalks, and alleys; impervious surface removal; tree plantings, impervious surface removal and other volume reduction and water quality enhancements.

FOXXSTEM is supporting LID design including utility coordination for LID design location, utility data acquisition (Quality Level C utility mapping), utility clearance letters, coordination with the utility companies, cost estimating, and locating opportunities for green infrastructure in the Broad Branch subwatershed in an effort to improve the water quality.
