Project Description:
The project is being undertaken to improve weigh station enforcement along I-295 within the District of Columbia. The project will deliver a fully designed I-295 SB Weigh Station with parking and enforcement area and the roadside appurtenances required, advancing a previously studied concept study along I-295 Southbound. Improvements include deceleration and acceleration lanes to the station, scale house, inspection pit, out of service truck storage spaces, and parking spaces for enforcement vehicles.

FOXXSTEM is providing stormwater management services in support for the upgrade of the interstate weigh station. Responsibilities include acquiring and managing data related to the associated permits, determining locations for green infrastructure and/or drainage upgrades, utility designation, authoring written narratives for work, developing fully constructable and biddable SWM plans and procurement support for generating bid documents. The project goals are to upgrade the facilities capabilities with regards to technology and smart systems that can communicate to the entire roadway network.
